About Me

Hi Jack Lang here. This website covers a lot of the logistics involved in building an underground bunker. I'm not a doomsday extremist by any means. I just created this blog because I see this as a very practical matter which may end up saving your family's lives in the event of a potential tsunami, nuclear radiation, oil spills, asbestos emissions, bomb blasts... really just about any worse case scenario. So please check out my blog and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Bunkers For Sale

Have you ever asked yourself if you are prepared for any kind of disaster that may hit your area? Think about it for a second. Will you be ready for a magnitude 8 earthquake and the impending destruction that it would cause? Or perhaps a hurricane or a tornado and the destruction that it will bring? Most of all, are you ready for a disaster caused by man – a nuclear bomb fallout? If you have answered no to at least one out of these three questions, then consider purchasing a bunker. Bunkers keep you and your family safe and protected in times of war and natural disasters. They would give you better protection than the basement of your house.

Some disasters take hours to wait out. Some take days, even weeks. When buying a prefab bunker, consider what you are going to use it for. That should determine the size and cost of your shelter. If your purpose is protection from a storm or tornado, many prefab steel bunkers are available for under $10,000. The larger the space, of course, the more expensive it gets. There are complex underground systems being sold for over $1,000,000. A particular one, complete with food storage, water filtration system, emergency medical supply, an air filter and a communications center, claims to be able to keep 5 occupants alive for an astonishing 10 long years! This complex even boasts its few luxurious features such as having a washer and dryer, hydroponics and play and recreation space. It is amazing just how creative and innovative manufacturers have gotten over the years. They have managed to incorporate several features into bunkers so that it would be tougher and more reliable. They have reinforced shelters with vertical and horizontal posts to withstand nuclear blasts and huge earthquakes, at the same time providing insulation for the comfort of their occupants. Some have also prepared the shelters to be NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) ready.

Here are tips on buying, placing and building your bunkers:
-When looking for a site to bury your underground shelter, you should choose the right location. It should be above water level and not in flood-prone areas.
-Keep the entrance concealed! Unless you want a mob racing to your shelter during a disaster, keep your project private. If possible, locate your point of entry in your home or enclosed in a shed.
-Before you place an order, find a manufacturer that has been around for some time. Established companies in the bunker business means better and more experience with constructing them. There are some trusted names when it comes to shelter building. Read reviews about them or talk to them directly. You could probably even visit their actual site or factories to take a quick look at the sample and quality of their work.

Disaster preparedness is what you have to keep in mind in these days of great calamities and warfare. Bunkers are essential for you and your family’s survival and protection.

The Rise of The Underground Bunkers

With every year that goes by we are building higher and higher buildings, but how about building lower and lower below the ground? Just as much as we need space to live in on the ground, we need some space to survive in underground.

As the predicted “end of the world” draws closer, more and more people have planned on building bunkers to take that last chance of survival if this phenomenon actually happens. In reply to many who comment that the prophecy is unlikely, some people disregard them and prepare themselves for that day by building bunkers and making other preparations. In some statistics, it says that this year, 2012, the rate at which people are demanding building of bunkers from construction services has increased dramatically. Maybe some are building a bunker because they believe in the prophecy. Maybe some do not take any sides but just want to it play safe. Or some just have them built for other reasons – nuclear bomb blasts, fallout, or a safe retreat during disasters. No matter what reason you have for building a bunker, it is wise to invest in an underground survival bunker to ensure your protection and survival.

The entry points of your underground bunker may resemble that of caves – doors on ground levels – or just a hatch on the ground. It is best to pick a blast door when choosing which kind of door to use. Blast doors could withstand nuclear explosions, absorbing the shock and still retaining its shape afterwards. When building your underground shelter, it is important to locate it deep underground at least 4 feet or lower, far from flammable objects, vehicles, tall buildings and structures. Make sure that the walls of your bunker are concrete and placed against soil to avoid heat buildup inside the bunker. Store adequate food and water inside your bunker. A month’s supply would be good enough. You could also install security systems to monitor what is happening outside from the safety of your bunker; see if it is safe to evacuate or not.

Underground bunker facilities are on the rise today. Be among those smart people who have disaster preparedness plans and are ready for any kind of disaster. Contact a construction company who has had a lot of experience over the years with building safe shelters and bunkers. The more experienced the company is, the better quality their shelters are.
