About Me

Hi Jack Lang here. This website covers a lot of the logistics involved in building an underground bunker. I'm not a doomsday extremist by any means. I just created this blog because I see this as a very practical matter which may end up saving your family's lives in the event of a potential tsunami, nuclear radiation, oil spills, asbestos emissions, bomb blasts... really just about any worse case scenario. So please check out my blog and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Survival Bunkers: How To Own One

What is the best protection against natural disasters and war? An underground bunker, of course. You have to be in an underground bunker if you want to survive these destructive forces. There are three ways to have your own bunker:

Purchase a prefabricated bunker.
Prefabricated bunkers are cheap and the easiest to install. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes. If you will need a shelter specifically for a tornado or a hurricane, there are very small-sized bunkers that would accommodate 3 to 5 people. These kinds of steel bunkers are available for a cheap price, below $10,000. If you need more protection and storage space, bigger shelters are also up for sale. You can also order a custom bunker and have it installed after a few weeks. Just let the construction workers and engineer know about your specifications and expectations and they will do their best to meet them.

Build your own Bunker.
There are many DIY shelter-building tutorials available online. Just make sure that you follow some important guidelines when building a bunker. A bunker must be made of steel-reinforced poured-concrete walls that are put up against the soil to improve insulation. You should purchase and install blast doors for more protection and security. Blast doors easily bends when pushed by a strong force, but bends back immediately to its original shape and position – important and useful for an event of a bomb explosion. If you do not know where to get cheap supplies and materials, then you might just end up spending more than what you could have spent for a shelter construction company service and prefab bunker. You can always ask around or contact a bomb-shelter professional to inquire about building bunkers.

Acquire space from a private sector:
There are a few companies, like Vivos, that sell spaces within its huge underground complex, but only a few select will be chosen. Vivos, for example, has been ready since 2011 and has now opened to more applicants for a cheaper price. Although the rooms are more like just an “economy” room, a lot of people have been showing their interest in purchasing the spaces.

Remember that a good underground bunker is made of steel and concrete. It should be above water level and as deep underground as possible. Do not be caught without a refuge in times of disaster. Build a survival bunker now.
